Fishing Tips
- Because of the small width of the river, short rods are the order
of the day. For float fishing, 10ft is ideal, anything longer is a
handicap! Fly fishing requires a rod no longer than 7ft with a 5-6 DT
line - no long casting is required, just accuracy as otherwise you will
be catching more trees than fish!
- All the normal baits will catch fish including maggots, worms,
sweet corn. Best floats are the Grayling style as they ride the rough
water better than very slim ones.
- WARNING - WADE WITH CARE! There are some pools which are 5ft deep
plus and therefore over the top of even chest waders. However, chest
waders are ideal as they allow you to cover a lot more water with
easier casting.
