Change at 2008 AGM in RED

Constitution

  1. The association shall be known as the 'Charfield Angling Association' and shall only be changed with the agreement of the membership at an Annual or Special General Meeting.
  2. Headquarters is to be the 'Plough Inn', Charfield, subject to the agreement of the licensee.
  3. An Annual General Meeting shall be held when a Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and a Management Committee shall be elected, to retire annually and be eligible for re-election.   No Club Officer shall be elected in his absence, unless the Chairman is satisfied that the member is happy to be nominated in their absence.
  4. Any alterations to rules must be made at the Annual General Meeting or at a Special General Meeting called for the purpose. All proposals for alterations or additions to the rules must be made in writing to the Secretary 14 DAYS BEFORE.
  5.  The General Secretary will handle all matters relating to the Association, and all communications must be addressed to the same. Items requiring Management Committee ruling or approval will be presented to the Management Committee by the Secretary at a special meeting or at the next Management Committee meeting.
  6. The Management Committee will meet a minimum of four times a year, one of these to coincide with the AGM.
  7.  The accounts of the Association must be submitted by the Treasurer to the membership at the A.G.M.
  8. Annual club membership will run from April 1st to March 31st. After 30th April, persons on the waiting list (to be held by the Secretary) will be invited by the Secretary to join, taking up places of members not having re-joined by 30th April.
  9. Prospective Members are required to apply for membership using an Application Form available from the Secretary. The Secretary will only provide the Prospective Member with a Form if there are places available. If no places are available then the Secretary may offer a place on the waiting list. It is to be noted that this does not constitute an offer of membership, only that an Application Form will be sent to the Prospective Member should a place become available. The Prospective Member is to be proposed and seconded by 2 current full members who must sign the Application Form in the appropriate place. The completed Application Form is to be sent to the Secretary with the relevant subscription. If the Prospective Member cannot get current full members to propose and second them then they must contact 2 of the Officers and request that they act as Proposer and Seconder.
  10.  Postal applications for membership to be addressed to the Secretary and accompanied by a stamped addressed envelope.
  11.  Membership is limited to a maximum of 100 members in total. Of this 100, there will be 50 Senior members. The balance of 50 will be made up of Junior, OAP and Renishaw Social Club members.
  12.  Membership fees will be decided annually at the AGM. Members (and immediate family) of the Renishaw Social Club will be entitled to membership (all classes) at reduced fees (to be decided at each years AGM).
  13. All full members are expected to attend at least one working party a year.
  14. Members not observing rules will be dealt with by the Management Committee, whose decision is final and will have the right to expel offenders.

Fishing

  1.  Members must abide by the Environment Agency rules i.e. using 1 rod and line and 1 single hook only when bait fishing, and EA local bylaws.
  2.  During the period 18th March to 15th June, only fly and free lined worm to be used. Fishing Seasons: Trout-18th March to 7th October, Coarse- 16th June to 14th March.
  3. When Trout fishing, no keep nets to be used.
  4. All Brown Trout are to be returned. The policy of the Management Committee regarding Rainbow Trout is that wherever possible they should be removed, regarding bylaw restrictions relating to the close season for Trout and size limits. However, it is up to the individual angler to decide whether to release Rainbow Trout.
  5.  Members must fasten all gates, must not damage banks, fences or any growing crops, must not light any fires, leave litter or take any dogs or guns to the fishing grounds. Cars are to be parked carefully, ensuring they do not obstruct access to fields and property etc..
  6. No fishing to take place while working parties are in progress.
  7. No litter, discarded tackle etc. must be left at the fishing grounds.
  8. Only hooks of the barbless or microbarbed variety shall be used. De-barbed hooks can also be used.
  9. The Association will not accept responsibility for any accident that may occur to any member or their company whilst on the Association's waters.
  10. Members must carry their current membership card at all times whilst fishing and produce same on request from any other member showing their current membership card.
